Cassie Marin is an indie-electronic singer based in Los Angeles. As a pansexual-identifying woman, Cassie breaks down barriers by being not only an artist but also a producer and lead songwriter.
After releasing ‘Busy Body‘ last month, Cassie Marin comes back with ‘Tanto.’ It’s the first single she sings in her mother tongue, which is Spanish. She talks about an autoimmune disease she has been battling in private over the past seven years through the song.
One day she woke up with burning hives on her body and then was diagnosed with rare autoimmune disease. After that, she very often notices new red shapes on her body while looking in the mirror.
‘Tanto’ is about her journey and change. In the beginning, she felt powerless towards the disease and also embarrassed. She admits she felt the need to hide from people, to not make them uncomfortable. She also wanted to avoid questions. However, that has changed within a few years.
“I’ve bloomed so much from this experience and am still learning how to approach every obstacle with a sense of excitement and curiosity, but most importantly, I’ve grown to have so much gratitude for my body and all that she does for me.”
This track is kept in a Latin climate and can definitely be defined as delicately feminine. It makes us feel like dancing. Listening to it, I can imagine women shaking their hips on the beach. If I ever need to put myself in a better party mood, ‘Tanto’ will definitely be the song I’ll go for.
Before Cassie Marin started her journey with music, she trained as a gymnast with dreams of going to the Olympics. Unfortunately, she suffered an injury at the age of 13 and wasn’t able to continue. That’s when she found solace and hope in music.
You can listen to ‘Tanto’ now on all streaming platforms.
